About freefor.dev
freefor.dev collects developer services that have a free plan you can keep using, not a trial that runs out next week: hosting, databases, sign-in, email, monitoring, CI and the rest of what a project runs on. Each service sits in one category, with its free-tier limits written out in the same short format, so two email APIs or two Postgres hosts can be compared at a glance.
The services, their links and their free-tier facts come from ripienaar/free-for-dev, a list maintained on GitHub by its community. freefor.dev is independent and not affiliated with that list or with any service in the directory. The categories, descriptions and limit summaries are our own. To add a service or correct one, contribute to the original list; changes show up here on the next sync.

How the limits are written
Each service shows up to five limits, the one that decides most first: emails a month for an email API, monthly active users for sign-in, build minutes for CI, storage for a database. Numbers use one format everywhere (3,000 emails/mo, 1M requests/mo, 5 GB storage), so a column of them reads like a comparison.
Conditions that change whether a plan fits are marked on the service: no credit card needed, usable without an account, free only for open-source projects or students, personal use only, a free tier that expires, or a report that the service may be offline. Vendors change their plans often, so check the plan page before you build on a limit.
How it stays current
Every six hours the site checks the source list for changes. New services appear in a matching category straight away, with the plain numbers from the list, until they get a description and limit summary of their own. Removed services disappear on the same sync. Service icons come from each service's own website.
